見晴古道 I Photography in Motion

Photo & Film, 2023

A trip to the forest of Taipinshan (太平山) in the northeast of Taiwan. The area was designated as a hunting ground for the aboriginal (泰雅 Atayal) with the name 「眠腦」 which means “sleeping brain, lush forest green” poetic yet leaves room for imagination. Based on this, in 1915 the Japanese renamed it to Taipinshan inspired by the hope of world peace 「天下太平」as a gesture to the ever growing prosperity to come.
The memories of ever-changing mountain scape reminisce through the darkroom process of chemical flow and light interplay, bringing each moment to life.
